WEFLO Builds a Drone Takeoff and Landing Site

Drone Delivery Base Built by WEFLO

WEFLO, a company that develops automated solutions for aircraft inspection, announced on the 11th that it has successfully completed the construction of a drone take-off and landing site for the domestic drone delivery demonstration city project. The drone demonstration city project, which is being promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security in 15 locations across the country, aims to establish a drone delivery base connecting the island and the land.

In about three months, WEFLO successfully built 23 modular Vertipits at a total of 15 drone delivery bases in South Korea’s drone demonstration cities. This demonstrated a leading role in the field of intelligent gas inspection for unmanned vehicles.

WEFLO’s big data-based flight inspection solution “Bertifit” was used to build a drone take-off and landing site. Bertifit is equipped with an intelligent sensor and a deep-tech solution for gas diagnosis developed by WEFLO to automatically check the appearance and interior of the gas. It provides a ‘Prespective Maintenance’ service with an expandable modular take-off and landing site and a non-linked inspection method, making it safer and more efficient than visual inspection.

In addition, to check large drones performing missions in the Pacific Ocean, it was mounted on ships and secured hundreds of kilometers of accident-free flight cases for three months to confirm its applicability in a moving mobility platform.

A WEFLO official said of the establishment of the base, “It paved the way for creating an economical, efficient and safe environment for business operators and safe for citizens.” Regarding future aspirations, he also said, “We plan to expand our business from the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry to intelligent MRO technology based on the technologies and data secured by drones.”
