WEFLO informs the vision of ‘verti-Pit’, a drone and UAM safety verification solution, at the 2023 Future Mobility Expo in Korea… “Contributing to the establishment of smart farms and smart cities!”

WEFLO (CEO Kim Eui-jung) announced that it participated in the 2023 Korea Future Mobility Expo (DIFA) held at EXCO for three days from October 19 (Thursday) to 21 (Saturday).
WEFLO is a company that has been developing a “verti-pit” solution to solve the grievances of customers in the drone and urban air transport (UAM) operation business. Their verti-Pit solution combines next-generation technologies such as sensing, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics. It collectively refers to technologies and services that identify defects in and out of the aircraft within seconds during takeoff and landing and systematically provide measured results to companies and operators.
verti-Pit technology and platform are most meaningful in that they provide far greater precision while shortening the time and procedure required for pre- and post-inspection of drones, UAMs, and Future Air Mobility (AAMs) to a level similar to that of visual inspection. In addition, as the main point is a relatively simple and lightweight landing pad, flexible application can be expected even in an environment where it is difficult to build and operate a Berti-port.
WEFLO is working with Pablo Air, Marine Drone Technology, and Skyports Drone Service Korea to accelerate the implementation of the verti-Pit solution and commercialization of air mobility. Based on this, it is demonstrating its operation in domestic regions, including Seongnam-si and Jeju-do, Gyeonggi-do, and is also promoting collaboration projects with overseas companies and institutions such as Bolatus and Georgia Sudden University.
According to the International Association of Unmanned Systems (AUVSI), the drone market size, which is only a part of the aviation mobility sector, is expected to grow to 85 trillion won by 2025, a WEFLO official said. “However, I think this is a number that can only be made possible when the concerns of accidents caused by airframe defects can be completely resolved, and we are developing our own defect diagnosis solution so that these predictions can come true.”
“Our verti-Pit solution will be realized in a way that dramatically improves the flight safety of the aircraft and minimizes most of the requirements by unmanned and digitizing the process,” he said. As it is likely to lead to property damage, solutions that exclude these risks will play a big role in building smart farms and smart cities, he added.
Meanwhile, the Future Mobility Expo (DIFA), which marks its seventh anniversary in Daegu since 2017, has included the entire mobility industry, including eco-friendly cars (electricity, hydrogen), electric components such as motors, batteries, and chargers, autonomous driving and urban air transportation (UAM) under the theme of “New Beginning of Mobility from the Ground to the Sky.” In particular, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, which are co-hosts, are the two key pillars of policy implementation in preparation for the era of full self-driving services and UAM commercialization, which is approaching 2027-2030, so they have presented technological achievements that have been focused on and introduced the latest policy directions.
