WEFLO participates in AFRO 2023… It announced the vision of ‘Verti-pit’, a quick precision inspection solution for drone and UAM aircraft!

WEFLO (CEO Kim Eui-jung) announced that it participated in the “2023 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 2023” held at COEX A Hall in Seoul for three days from July 26 (Wednesday) to 28 (Friday).
WEFLO is a company that has developed a “verti-pit” to solve the grievances of customers in the drone and urban air transport (UAM) operation business. Based on next-generation technologies such as sensing, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics, it collectively refers to a solution that checks defects in the interior and exterior of the aircraft within seconds during takeoff and landing and provides the measured results to companies and operators with systematic data.
Their verti-pit technology and platform simplify the pre- and post-inspection of drones, UAMs, and Future Air Mobility (AAMs), but provide superior precision than visual inspection, and are significant in accelerating the commercialization of next-generation mobility by increasing the safety of flight, officials stressed. In addition, the Berti-port can be implemented in the form of a relatively simple and lightweight landing pad, and flexible application can be expected even in environments where it is difficult to build and operate Berti-port.
To implement the Bertifit solution and quickly commercialize air mobility, WEFLO is currently working with Pablo Air, Marine Drone Technology, and Skyports Drone Service Korea. Through this, it has demonstrated in Seongnam-si and Jeju-do, Gyeonggi-do, and is also promoting collaboration projects with overseas companies and institutions such as Bolatus and Georgia Sudden University.
According to the International Association of Unmanned Systems (AUVSI), the market size of drones, which is only a part of the aviation mobility sector, is expected to reach 85 trillion won by 2025, a WEFLO official said. With this one mind, the company wanted to develop its own defect diagnosis solution to dramatically improve the flight safety of the aircraft and digitize the process to minimize manpower requirements.”
“80% of commercial drones are expected to be used for agricultural purposes such as control, sowing, crop forecasting, and pest monitoring, and if an accident such as a gas crash occurs in an agricultural environment, it is highly likely to lead to large fires and property damage,” he said. “We expect that its Bertipit solution, which excludes these risks, will also play a big role in accelerating innovation in the domestic and international agricultural environment.”
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest AgTech & FoodTech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in the AgTech, Food Tech, and Green Bio sectors exhibited products and services to solve various problems in the agricultural and food industries, and held various programs such as conferences and investment presentations (IR competitions) to discuss the present and future of AgTech and Food Tech. The exhibition was hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
