WEFLO (CEO Kim Eui-jung) announced that it will participate in CES 2024, which will be held in Las Vegas from January 9th (Tue) to 12th (Fri, Local Time) next year.

WEFLO is a company that provides automated air mobility inspection solutions and predictive inspection solutions. It currently has technology to check UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoffs and landers, electric vertical takeoffs and landing), which are commonly used as ‘air taxis’. Through its product “verti-Pit” in the drone market, WEFLO checks the aircraft’s internal and external defects before takeoff and provides predictive inspection data to operators through systematic data. In 2023, along with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, 15 demonstration cities nationwide were established. The goal is to contribute to the commercialization of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), which is getting closer every day by developing solutions in the drone market.

The service provided by WEFLO uses automated inspection technology to check the inside and outside of future aviation mobility aircraft. The inspection derives systematic data using aerospace domain knowledge-based AI and big data technology made up of self-developed sensors, and provides predictive inspection and accident prevention services based on the data. The service comes in various forms depending on the customer group, and currently includes a buried Berti-Pit for small drones, a standing Berti-Pit for large drones, and a mobile drone inspection pad set for military drones.
At this CES, we will introduce an all-in-one set for operators using military drones or mobile simple drones, and this drone carrier has the advantage of providing all-in-one convenience, speed, and safety by intuitively indicating the inspection results and expanding to an app.

A WEFLO official said, “In 2023, we made great efforts to strategically build references in Korea. We have established 15 demonstration cities nationwide with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport this year, and 23 of our products have been built in these demonstration cities, providing preliminary and predictive inspections to ensure safe drone delivery, such as urban drone delivery and inter-island drone delivery,” he said.

In 2024, it is expected to form more partnerships with various overseas companies, including Volatus Infrastructure (LLC), which signed an MOU in 2023 with the aim of expanding overseas, and also expressed its ambition to greatly help commercialize the eVTOL industry as well as the drone industry.

An official said, “We want to lay the foundation for overseas expansion through CES.” The domestic market is slow to grow in the drone and eVTOL and AAM markets due to spatial and regulatory restrictions, and there are restrictions on scale, and when it comes to regulation, it has no choice but to follow the laws and regulations of the US FAA. Therefore, we want to expand our business overseas, which is showing a faster growth trend, and we will start active overseas expansion starting with CES, the world’s largest IT exhibition.”

In 2024, we plan to build various types of services for more diverse drone product lines, and our goal is to contribute to the commercialization of the AAM industry by expanding to more detailed product lines (large drones, medium and large drones, eVTOLs, etc.). “In addition, if we focused on building references and demonstrating (PoC) in 2023, we will take the lead in pre-inspection of the drone and eVTOL industries through exports and sales from 2024,” he said.

Meanwhile, the world’s largest IT exhibition ‘CES’, hosted by the American Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is held in Las Vegas every January as an exhibition that gives you a quick overview of the flow of innovative technologies around the world. AVING News, which has been covering CES for 18 consecutive years, has reported CES news around the world every year since 2006, and has been conducting “BEST OF CES” and “BEST OF MADE IN KOREA” to select the best innovative products, companies and technologies. In addition, CES field issues are vividly communicated through ‘AVING LIVE’.

Since the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s first participation in CES in 2020, the CES 2024 Seoul Integration Hall has operated with the largest exhibition area, the number of participating companies, and the number of participating supporters. The Seoul Integration Hall, where 13 organizations participate in collaboration, is an important step in the city’s move to make Seoul a mecca for startups, and 17 of the companies participating in the Seoul Integration Hall have received innovation awards to prove this. The participating organizations in the Seoul Integration Hall are ▲ SBA ▲ Seoul Bio Hub ▲ Campus Town ▲ AI Yangjae Hub ▲ Gwanak-gu ▲ Yonsei University ▲ Korea University ▲ Central University ▲ Seogang University ▲ Kookmin University ▲ Hanyang University ▲ Konkuk University ▲ Kyunghee University. In addition to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, institutions and companies, supporters through industry-academia cooperation will be matched 1:1 with companies, and 85 supporters, the largest size, will participate.
